On Thursday, November 10th, we conducted our second lock down drill. A summary of what occurred may be found on my blog here. The drill took longer than anticipated with students not leaving school until 40 minutes after the scheduled time without the District getting notification out to you. This is the superintendent's fault and I apologize for the inconvenience that it caused.

Each lock down drill we run has a focus. The first drill was about having students, faculty, and staff out of earshot, out of sight, and in a secure location. This drill focused how our incident command structure functioned. To measure our performance, I planned one too many changes for an event with an advertised deadline. While we learned and improved a great deal, we did miss a communication component, which we are rectifying for the next drill.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete these drills to improve our practice and improve the overall safety and security for our students.
