Dear
Parents, In Language Arts we are working on main ideas, cause and
effect. The New York State ELA test went well and all the students work so
hard on doing their best. We are researching wild animals facts and making a
mobile to display the facts. Our unit of study is Benjamin Franklin and his
fascinating life. We continue to write to our pen-pals in In Math please practice your multiplication facts. We
must know them to the automatic level!
We have a BIG math quiz each Monday. We have an envelope of
flashcards which should be practiced nightly for 10 minutes. Can your child tell you the difference
between a trapezoid and a rhombus? Measuring of any object is a great
practice. As we move on in math the students are doing triple digit
multiplication---again those facts certainly come in handy! In Social Studies we are finished our study of
economics. Key terms like producers,
suppliers, consumers, wants and needs should be explained to you by your
very smart SS student. In Science, we measure our plants
and plot the growth. The plant cycle
is studied and related to the life cycle of animals. With our fast growing
plants we hope to have them pollinated with real bees.
Please
let me know if there is a change in your travel arrangements for the zoo
trip. Contact me at: mkruchinski@salemcsd.org Thanks for all your support! |
