Text Box: What a great3rd grade year!

In Language Arts we are working hard on our animal reports and a timeline of Benjamin Franklin’s life.

In Math we are studying perimeter, area and volume. The students are designing a half of inch square unit sized floor plan of the classroom. To finish the unit on perimeter, area and volume the students will design their own playground blue prints, what fun! PLEASE help your child learn their multiplication facts, I recommend ten minutes each night.  It’s crucial to their success in higher grades.

In Social Studies we are in the middle of learning about natural resources. Soon we will be researching how a natural resource becomes a product. After our natural resource study we will be observing the rain forest, one of the biggest and most valuable natural resources our planet has!

In Science we will be learning about simple machines. Do you know how many simple machines there are? Your child does! For the next couple of weeks we will be studying simple machines and compound machines. We build a Rube Goldberg machine. Next we will be building structures.
