BA English – Oakland University, Michigan MS Library Science – Wayne State University, Michigan Post Grad. Courses – UC Berkeley, California & Towson State University, Maryland Prior entering the teaching profession, Ms Artz was a university librarian in Michigan, a Congressional legislative aide in Washington, D.C., and a housing specialist in Baltimore County, Maryland. Originally from the Buffalo, N.Y. area, she taught in Baltimore City for two years before moving back north. She has taught at Salem for 22 years and is the advisor of the 7-12 creative works magazine, The Mind’s Eye. Her two sons and twin granddaughter and grandson live in San Francisco. Now that her sons are grown, she is able to return to her favorite hobby: world travel.
