Crafts?

Homework

Studio in Crafts is an exciting course, a venue to explore and experiment with different media and techniques and produce items that can be used, and items that can be admired. Both John “Everyman” Doe and Martha Stewart would enjoy Crafts.

Why is that?MP900444270[1]

We’ll be making both useable household items and fine art decorative pieces out of clay. We’ll be experimenting with various styles and techniques of printmaking. We’ll be exploring textile arts: yarn and twine and fabric and what can be created with combinations of those materials. We’ll be getting involved with metals and jewelry-making, and even enameling.

There isn’t any graded homework in Crafts, but student craftspeople should be aware of their surroundings and open to inspiration.

Inspiration is everywhere!

And…you can make many things that you never thought of making.

Why not KNIT YOURSELF that colorful scarf?

Why not MAKE yourself a new cereal bowl?

Why buy a Hallmark card when you can create a printing block, and make your own series of illustrated thank you cards?MP900443676[1]
