What's Happening

Homework

Students are creating a “Swat Bot”. This is modeled after the mobile robots that the military and law enforcement use to disarm IEPs or explosives. This is a project that uses real-world problem solving using teamwork and mechanical engineering principles. Below is an example from last year.

2.        Autonomous catapult

Students have started their Mobile robot project. This project teaches students principles of mechanical engineering, electrical circuits, remote control components, and pneumatic principles. The students are in class early and leave only when I have to kick them out. In other words, the students seem excited and interested in their robot design and construction!!!

Students are working on an autonomous catapult robot that follows a line and throws a ball into a basket. Students are using microcontrollers to control the robot. Principles include electronics and computer programming.
