Message from the Superintendent - January 28, 2021

January 28, 2021

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

The district learned that an individual in the district tested positive for COVID-19. The individual was last in the school building on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, and is now in quarantine. Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district is currently assisting the Washington County Department of Health with contact tracing. At this point in time, the scheduled hybrid learning plan will still be followed the week beginning Monday, February 1. Should this status change once the contract tracing is completed, families will be notified by Sunday, January 30. As a reminder, Friday, January 29, is a full-remote learning day.

The district has been following all the proper protocols for daily temperature checks, physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing, but as an added measure of precaution, please monitor your child(ren) for any symptoms of COVID, which can be found on the CDC website.

If you would like information about testing procedures, please call Washington County Public Health at (518) 747-7520.

Sincerely,

David J. Glover, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
