Message from the Superintendent - New Positive COVID-19 Case

March 26,  2021

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

The district has learned that an individual in the high school tested positive for COVID-19. The individual who tested positive was last in the school building on Friday, March 26, 2021.

The individual is now in quarantine and will have to be cleared by the Washington County Department of Health before returning to school. Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

The district is currently assisting the Washington County Department of Health with contact tracing efforts using logs and attendance records. All sports contests scheduled for this weekend are postponed. The status of next week’s learning schedule is pending, and additional information will be provided over the weekend.

The district has been following all the proper protocols for daily temperature checks, physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing, but as an added measure of precaution, please monitor your child(ren) for any symptoms of COVID, which can be found on the CDC website.

If you would like information about testing procedures, please call Washington County Public Health at (518) 747-7520.

Sincerely,

David J. Glover, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
