Message from the Superintendent - Status of Learning Plan Grades 7-12 for Week of March 29
March 28, 2021
Due to the recent COVID-19 positive cases at the high school, we are unable to fully staff the high school for instruction next week. As a result, grades 7-12 will be fully remote for the week of March 29th – April 1st. We will return to our hybrid schedule at the conclusion of spring break on April 12th.
We will not be transporting high school students to CTE programming this week; however, we will continue to transport students whose special education program is out of the district.
In addition, we have staffing issues in the transportation department with having enough drivers to bring the elementary students into school on Monday. As a result, the elementary school will be fully remote tomorrow. We are working on another solution to be able to transport students to school later in the week. We will update on Monday.
We continue to work with the Washington County Health Department on contact tracing. Those individuals who are involved are being contacted to determine appropriate actions per the CDC and New York State Department of Health guidelines.
Pick-up meals will be available to students who are fully remote. Please contact Wendy Cary to order and arrange a pick-up day and time.
We understand that this is an inconvenience for everyone involved. However, it is important to ensure everyone’s safety. We will continue to provide updates as they become necessary and available.
As a summary, students in grades 7-12 will be fully remote next week. The elementary school will be fully remote Monday. We will update you on the status of the elementary school later tomorrow.
