Message from the Superintendent - Status of Learning Plan for the Remainder of the Week

March 29, 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian/Caregiver:

The Washington County Health Department has completed its contact tracing for Salem. Families impacted by the recent positive cases have been contacted. We continue to cooperate with them on any follow-up to the recent and possible cases. The result of this work will impact the school as follows:

  • PK-6 will return to the hybrid model beginning tomorrow. Purple students will report to school on Tuesday, March 30. Gold students will report to school on Wednesday, March 31.

  • Please be patient in waiting for the bus tomorrow as we’ve made adjustments to several bus routes in order to provide transportation to all of our elementary students. Some busses may be later than normal. Similarly, students may arrive home later at the end of the day. The pick-up and drop-off pattern at school will remain the school throughout the week.

  • Grades 7-12 will remain fully remote for the remainder of the week.

  • Pick-up meals will be available to students who are fully remote. Please contact Wendy Cary to order and arrange a pick-up day and time.

The district has been following all the proper protocols for daily temperature checks, physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing, but as an added measure of precaution, please monitor your child(ren) for any symptoms of COVID, which can be found on the CDC website.

If you would like information about testing procedures, please call Washington County Public Health at (518) 747-7520.

Sincerely,

David J. Glover, Ed. D.
