Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers:

Now that school is underway, we want to continue to work to keep the school a safe learning environment for all our students. Part of this process is a review of the guidelines for the continued daily operation of the district. Recently, we had a conversation with the Washington County Department of Health about a revised protocol related to how a confirmed COVID positive case is addressed in the district.

If the Washington County Department of Health has a confirmed positive COVID diagnosis of a student or employee of the district, the district will be implementing an automatic period of closure and remote learning for the entire district for a minimum period of twenty-four (24) hours. During this period, the Department of Health will begin its initial investigation and contact tracing procedure. The results of this investigation will determine the extent of possible exposure and provide the district with recommendations for further quarantine or reopening of the district.

We hope that the district will continue to remain COVID free, but also want to make sure that you are informed of the various scenarios that we may encounter. If you have any questions regarding this information, I would encourage you to please contact the district at or call my office at 518-854-7855. Thank you for your patience and support of the school district.
