Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am writing to share with you that a local school district reported that after an overdose occurred during the school day, it had confiscated vapes from a Jr/Sr High School student that had been adulterated. The confiscated vapes were sent for testing and it was confirmed the vapes contained various opioids.
Please be aware that because of illicit distribution channels, many vapes contain substances that are dangerous and unknown to the user. Vapes not only contain nicotine, they may also be adulterated with THC and/or opioids. We ask that you please talk to your child(ren) about the dangers associated with vaping.
Please be aware that due to this new method of using illicit substances, we are re-evaluating our discipline response when students are found at Salem CSD with vaping devices. We will update you accordingly.
