Dear SWA community,

I am writing to inform you that we will be starting work on the Roof Capital Project over spring break. We are currently having roofing materials delivered to the campus and project work will start on Monday. Starting work at this time of the year will make it possible to complete the project in one summer instead of two.

The initial work will be focused on removing and replacing the Primary Building roofs over the next few weeks. Although there will be work occurring on the Primary Building roof during the school day, there should be no disruption to classes. Occupancy of the building is permitted and there should be no disruption to the building’s routine.

Please be assured that we are working closely with the roofing contractor and our construction management team to ensure that safety is the utmost priority. Throughout the project, you will notice that some areas will be fenced off at times and there will be signage as well to inform you of restricted areas and/or new routes in the buildings or on campus. Please be mindful of this at arrival and dismissal time and while visiting the campus over break and on weekends. If your children are older, it is important to also discuss with them not to ever enter any fenced in construction areas. We thank you for your attention and cooperation in advance.

We will continue to update you as work progresses into the main building throughout the remainder of the school year and into the summer. We expect little disruption to our regular routine. However, we want to keep you informed along the way. If you have any questions throughout the project, please do not hesitate to contact me.
