Salem Central School District invites students, families, community members and local veterans to come together in recognition of those who have served our nation during its annual Veterans Day Assembly on Tuesday, November 10th, in the Salem Washington Academy Gymnasium.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. Veterans are invited to sign in beginning at 8:15 a.m., followed by a light breakfast provided by the American Legion Auxiliary and coffee provided by the school district. All visitors are asked to bring identification when entering the school.

“Veterans Day provides an important opportunity for our school community to come together. By honoring our veterans and listening to their stories, we help students develop a deeper understanding of service, sacrifice, and civic responsibility,” said Julie A. Collier, Superintendent of Salem Central School District.

The assembly will recognize veterans representing all branches of the U.S. military and feature musical performances by Salem's elementary and high school students. Guest speaker Nolan Cuevas, a U.S. Coast Guard captain and Salem alum, will share his perspective and experiences. Members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will also participate in the program.
